HOMEWOOD – To emphasize the importance of learning throughout the summer, State Senator Napoleon Harris III is hosting a Summer Book Club to encourage students to read and continue their studies during the summer vacation.
“I’d like to invite students across our community to join the 2026 Summer Book Club,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “Reading over the summer break helps keep students engaged and sets them up for success in the upcoming school year.”
The Summer Book Club requires students to read eight books of their choice during the summer break, record the names of the books on a form, and return the form to Harris’ Homewood office by Aug. 14. Every child who completes the Summer Book Club will receive a prize and a certificate from Harris.
You can fill out a Summer Book Club form online at SenatorNapoleonHarris.com or request copy from the district office. People with questions can reach out to Harris’ office at 708-893-0552.
