SPRINGFIELD – State Senator Napoleon Harris, III (D-Harvey) released the following statement after approving a budget that provides Illinoisans with financial relief during the COVID-19 pandemic:

“This budget preserves core democratic values for Illinois residents. With many tough decisions revolving around the budget this year, I wanted to ensure COVID-19 relief services were at the forefront and strived to provide financial relief to help people begin to return to normalcy. 

“This is a responsible budget that represents our current reality. Our workers have been laid off from their jobs, resources have not been supplied to disadvantaged communities, and many businesses have not received the support they deserved.”
