SPRINGFIELD – A new law supported by State Senator Napoleon Harris III will make it easier for law enforcement to remove criminal trespassers from a person’s home.
“If someone breaks into your home when you go out of town, they shouldn’t have the same rights as someone who rents a room in your house,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “This will make it easier for the police to remove squatters from a residence.”
SPRINGFIELD – To ensure working mothers who nurse their infants don’t have to choose between earning an income or providing for their baby, State Senator Napoleon Harris III supported a newly signed law granting paid break time for pumping breast milk.
“This is about dignity and common sense,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “Mothers shouldn’t have to lose pay just to care for their babies.”

“Every missing person deserves to be found,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “This law improves how police search for missing persons and makes sure they use every tool available. It helps families get answers because our communities should never be overlooked.”
SOUTH HOLLAND – State Senator Napoleon Harris III attended a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday to celebrate the start of construction on the Allied Health & Nursing Center at South Suburban College.
“Today marks a proud moment for the Southland as we break ground on a project 15 years in the making,” said Harris (D-Harvey). “This $52 million investment will transform South Suburban College by helping build up the next generation of health care professionals right here in our community.”
